Wryn Shares New Single ‘Snake’

American artist Wryn shares their brand new single Snake, a stunning, heartfelt alternative/singer-songwriter gem out now via Righteous Babe Records. 

 

Snake is a poignant piece of music that finds Wryn processing their righteous anger and the intense political and social upheaval — specifically the Black Lives Matter movement, anti-trans legislation and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. You can clearly feel that raw, honest emotion and soul pouring from Wryn's stellar vocal performance which is accompanied by a memorable and intimate production. Apart from their vocals and haunting harmonies, I am particularly fond of the lush, somewhat eerie guitar plucks and how they are nicely intertwined with lush atmospherics and steady drum patterns that build up in energy to match the passion and raw emotion of their storytelling and vocal delivery.

Speaking about the song, Wryn said,

This song stems from a righteous anger. A call to something older and deeper, it taps into my own personal experiences of not just systemic violence but the intimate + interpersonal kind. Having experienced assault in my past, this song was a way to transform my own pain into a call to action. ‘I can’t wait for an answer before I get free.’
