Joseph Bell x The Honeymooners Club x MISSMARIE Drop New Single ‘Stories In My Mind’

British singer and songwriter Joseph Bell teams up with fellow British artists The Honeymooners Club and MISSMARIE to deliver Stories In My Mind, a vibey, electronica influenced alt-pop song about the sitting on negative feelings in the creative process. 

 

Out now via Fresh Choons, Stories In My Mind finds the talented artists delving into the creative process, reflecting on the artistic tendency to internalise negative emotions rather than expressing them openly. I am really enjoying how Joseph and MISSMARIE's vocals fit beautifully together, both radiating raw emotion and soaring effortlessly over the vibey indietronica production (which was co-produced by The Honeymooners Club). Apart from their gorgeous vocals and dreamy harmonies, I am particularly fond of the punchy drum machine loops which are nicely intertwined with shimmering 80s-inspired synths and ethereal guitars that come together to create an overall warm atmosphere perfect for a laid-back weekend!

Speaking about the song, Joseph Bell said,

The song came from a session and conversation with my friend Malik Hilliman (The Honeymooners Club) about the danger of immortalising negative thoughts and emotions in songs, and how creating songs out of negative moments can sometimes make those moments and emotions more significant than they originally were. After playing the song to MISSMARIE in a later session, she agreed to be a part of the song too - I love what her verse and vocal tone add to the track, and the world that we were able to create with our three visions combining together.
